Up next in the Escapades from A-Z quest, is the letter "I". I had a suggestion to indulge in chocolate, but remembered that I had already experienced this pleasure in a prior escapade. However, I did like the indulge theme. Therefore, I happily chose to indulge in a movie.
I also chose a movie I would not have normally watched - one about roller derby! I had not even considered watching Whip It, even though I do like Drew Barrymore and the Ellen Page, until my interest was peaked reading Joy's experience as an extra on the set and then a tweet a few days later sparked me into action.
I'm not one to ruin a movie for anyone who plans to see it, so I will just say that I really enjoyed it! If you like feel-good, girl power, take risks and follow your heart type of movie, I bet you will like it, too.
I have to say that it was quite an experience watching a movie by myself in a nearly empty theater in the middle of the work day. I got a bit paranoid sitting there in the dark. I couldn't help thinking that someone was going to jump out and grab me at any minute now. I got over it quickly though. On a scale of 1-10, I'd have to rate this escapade as a 7.
I'm linking today's post with Theta Mom Thursday since it was an hour (and more) for myself, without kids and without work. Have you had your midday escapade or time out today?
p.s. Joy - I think I saw you in the fire marshall scene. I recognized the semi-permanent red streaks in your hair!

Happy escapades!

I love to watch a movie in peace and no interruptions, now that's a good way to spend a time out! Out of a 7, that would probably make me still want to see it. Thanks for linking and participating Theta Mom!
Stopping by from SITS.
I love your blog idea.
I'm waiting for the movie to come to our little town theatre. My sister and some other friends saw it and enjoyed. I wasn't sold on the roller derby and stuff, but I love Drew.
I am having my Midday Escapade at 11am - getting my nails done - can't wait for some girl talk
Hi, Heather - it's definitely worth seeing. It was my pleasure to participate in your time out. Thanks for hosting it.
Bibi - Welcome to my little blog and for the compliment. Enjoy your escapade today! I'll stop by your place shortly for a visit.
p.s. I love Drew, too and I'm actually thinking about trying out for the roller derby. Ha, ha - in my dreams!
Hey there...I'm new to your blog. I found you through Ms Bibi (one of the comments above). I have never gone to a movie alone, but I enjoy doing so much more by myself than I used to (before kids that is:) I started my first blog almost a month ago now. Most of my "time outs" are spent there...learning, networking, creating. So enjoying the process. Come on by for a visit. We'd love to have you. Today we have a video post on intimacy. My friend Charisse and I get together for coffee and video our conversations to put on our blog. Hope to see you there. Holly at lifelaughlatte.blogspot.com

Thanks for stopping by my place, ladies.
I will admit I would have been creeped out too. I would have been coming up with a new horror movie in my mind!
Ha, ha, Vicki - that was exactly what I started doing, Vicki! Luckily, the movie was good and distracted me. Thanks for the comment and for visiting my place. I'm heading over to yours right now.
