In a Land Not So Far Away

There lived a young and peppy gal named Lynn.  She was pleased with the status of her life, all but one exception: her j-o-b.

Lynn dreamed of a place where she would actually look forward to going every day. She longed to make a difference with her job. She had happy thoughts of singing out loud in pure joy as she worked.

But alas, this was not to be so. Lynn was stuck in a boring, monotonous, and blood-sucking job because she desperately needed that paycheck. However, one day, Lynn woke up to a brilliant plan: she would make things better by escaping out of the office for some fun adventures during her lunch hour. Surely, this would make her work better.

And that, my friends, is how we get to my next midday escapade starting with the letter "M". With so many ideas starting with this letter, I had to narrow it down. I've already watched a movie, McDonald's will be used for an upcoming post, and Making out with Brad Pitt is totally out of the question with Angelina still in the picture.

So, poor me was left with her quest to become the best Miniature Golf player in all of Lynn-dom.

Yep - I sauntered my way over to the mini-golf course near my work (not pictured above) and played a cool round of golf all by myself. Turns out not many people play mini-golf during the lunch hour, so I had the run of the place.

Good thing, too. There were balls flying all over the green (and not into the holes where they were aimed). Tee hee hee. I would be that the girls working the counter were kinda hoping none of the balls would fly over there way.

Did I make pro that day and rule over all the mini-golf courses? That would be a flat "not really". Was it a worthwhile escapade? You betcha it was!

p.s.  I'm linking up with Time Out for Theta Mom Thursday in honor of the return of her meme since her WordPress move.  Learn more and link up by clicking on her button below:

How great that you don't have an issue with going to play mini-golf by yourself. I bet it was a lot of fun. I'd be way to competitive, even with myself.

Wish we could get out and play some mini-golf today! There are 40 mph winds out there right now, so guess it'll just have to wait!

I feel bad for you working a job that you don't like because that makes those days really drag, but it sounds like you've found a way to lighten your load so good for you.

This post made mini-golf interesting for me. Watching my brother in the driving range got me thinking I will not even hit the ball. I think I should try the mini thing first. Maybe trying mini golf will make me want to try the big thing too.
