Even though I am no longer escaping the grind of my former 9 to 5 job, I am still taking time out for midday escapades as we are in the home stretch of my Escapades from A-Z. For the letter "T", what better escape than to have a therapy session.
I started seeing my therapist about 6 months ago after a recommendation from my friend who swears by her therapy sessions. I am so glad I found my therapist because there are certain things I can only talk about openly in therapy that others in my life may not understand or even be able to handle.
An hour on the therapy couch (or chair) is equivalent to an hour on the massage table for me. Sometimes it's painful - going through the "muk" of my past - and then there are the other times...like yesterday, where you can hear the roar of hoorays and clapping of hands when breakthroughs are celebrated.
When I rule the world, I will declare free therapy for everyone! Who's game?

I completely agree. I loved it when I got my one hour with my therapist. It felt great to be able to say all the things I keep bottled up all the time. What a release and I learned so much about me. Now I just need a bracelet that says "WWMTS" (what would my therapist say). lol
I think my massage therapist doubles and my shrink. Thankfully I get the benefit of both cause I sure need it!
Free therapy would be amazing.
I used to hate going to therapy when I was younger. It didn't really help b/c I was too angry and bitter to let it, but now I would do almost anything to be able to go even once a month.
Therapy is one of the most wonderful gifts some one can ever receive. I can understand how it feels like a "massage table". Although, I will say, if you need a 5 min break from your stresses, check this out

:D Stay sane! lol
I'm in. Well, as long as I'm not told I need pills. I've got a lot of crazy going on. Haha.
I miss you at my party. Come dance with me?
Therapy would be great in this stressful life. But I agree with Drama Mama, no pills. I've seen how a friend of mine has been dependent on them for most of her life.
I agree! Vote for Lynn to rule the world!!!!
Therapy does help especially if you are under a lot of stress or have issues you need to work out.
Thanks for stopping by the Healthy Moms!
Never tried it. My sisters do though. Definitely can be beneficial if needed.
Thanks for sharing. ♥
I'm actually a licensed social worker and could provide counseling - instead I work in child welfare, but have done some counseling in the past. I think we make the worst patients though - I'm extremely private and have difficulty talking things out even in therapy:) It can be such a great tool though!
I would LOVE to sit on a couch and have somebody listen to me talk! Free therapy sounds great!
I vote yes!!!
Free Therapy For All?
Would the therapists work for free, or is that going to be another charge that we'll end up paying through taxes. LOL.
Sorry, but free isn't usually really ever free where I live,
except in the coupon world.
Whoops, that probably isn't really free either, is it. That's just made up in the cost of the product to consumers somewhere along the line. I just don't typically see it that way though at the time I have one of my free product grocery coupons in my hands. I then see it as a Whoopee, it's free.
Awww Well, free or buy one get one free grocery coupons is my therapy.
LOL.
Ya' got my vote, Lynn! I saw a therapist years ago when going thru divorce. It was supposed to be couples counseling, but one session convinced then hubby that he didn't need to be talking about feelings. I continued, however, and I swear it's the reason I survived with my sanity somewhat intact. Okay, not perfect! lol
I loved therapy! I am game:-)

Oh I'm totally game :D
I've seen a few therapists in the past but unfortunately they weren't able to help me because they didn't understand my situation :(
Weird huh!?
After my bout with post-partum depresson/anxiety, I realized how crucial therapists were. I think therapists really should just be called professional friends that know how to help heal emotions. I hate that there is such a stigma for people who go!
